Archery

▶ Play

Archery is a bow-and-arrow game. You set the bow's direction with your finger and its power by folding the phone. Each round the target stands further away and at a different height; on distant targets the scene zooms out, and a good archer has to adjust aim and power together.

How to play

  1. Put the phone flat open on a table and press ⟲ 180°.
  2. Tap or drag on the screen: the bow points that way. Aim up if the target is higher, down if it is lower.
  3. Raise the top half to draw the bow. Folding only sets the power.
  4. Lower it quickly: the arrow flies. Too little power and it falls short, too much and it flies long.
  5. The game has three distances with three arrows at each.

Tips

Distance and height

The target's distance and height change each round. For distant targets the camera zooms out, and the archer and arrow are drawn larger to make up for it. The arrow flies on a realistic curve, and gravity becomes more noticeable on long shots. Points depend on how close to the centre of the target the arrow lands.

What do you need?

Katla games run in the browser; there is nothing to download or install. The games read the phone's fold angle from its motion sensor, so they play best on foldable phones such as the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. On a phone that doesn't fold you can tilt the phone with your wrist instead of moving the top half, and most games can also be played by tapping the screen. Motion sensors only work over a secure connection (https).
