Perspective puts a pop-up book inside your phone. The pieces of a picture are scattered across the pages and the cards that rise from them. They only come together into the full picture at one single fold angle, seen from one viewpoint. Finding that angle and holding still there is what this puzzle is about.
How to play
- Put the phone flat open on a table and press ⟲ 180°. The book opens flat too.
- As you fold the phone the book starts closing and the cards stand up. The pieces move toward their dashed outlines.
- The screen shows the target angle and your current angle; follow the "open more" or "fold more" prompt.
- When the pieces line up, hold the phone still for a moment: they stick to the picture and the pieces for the next step arrive.
Tips
- Make the last few degrees very slowly; if you are moving fast, a piece that passes its spot doesn't count.
- Hold the phone with both hands or leave one half on the table; shaking resets the hold timer.
- Some steps need only a slight fold, others need the phone almost fully open. For steps between 165° and 180°, close the book just a little.
- Finished pieces stay in the picture; look at the empty part of the picture to work out where the new pieces belong.
Why does it only fit at one angle?
Each piece is projected backwards from the camera so that, at the target angle, it lands in exactly the right place in the picture. At any other angle the same pieces look scattered and meaningless. It is the same idea as anamorphic street art: the image only comes together from the right viewpoint. Each level has several steps, and every step has its own angle.
What do you need?
Katla games run in the browser; there is nothing to download or install. The games read the phone's fold angle from its motion sensor, so they play best on foldable phones such as the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. On a phone that doesn't fold you can tilt the phone with your wrist instead of moving the top half, and most games can also be played by tapping the screen. Motion sensors only work over a secure connection (https).
